A Meeting of Fishermen

Feedback from the ITECHMER trade fair

Itechmer 2017

The Fisheries trade fair in Lorient was the perfect occaison for us to meet directly with industry professionals, and this twelth edition of the Itechmer fair did not disappoint. The weather certainly persuaded more than just the fishermen to stay on dry land, we were pleasantly surprised to see numerous industry leaders and shipowners alike, those already familiar with our products and those yet to discover. Many came to us eiher to express their satisfaction with MARINELEC solutions or on a mission to find out how they could improve their current onboard security, as they are exposed daily to various risks at sea.

Among the visitors were young shipowners such as that of the Kronos, the sister-ship of the Caraïbes II, currently under construction in Douarnenez. He will be one of the first users of the the MACCS, a new alarm panel, which we were proud to present to his colleagues at the fair. Installation partners, integrators and shipyards were also present, allowing us to see the positive reception from the professionals of our new range of MACCS and ALTO.

New in Alarms

MACCS and ALTO find their market

ALTO and MACCS

For the artisanal fishing sector in France like the workboat sector in Asia, since its launch at the beginning of the year, the new MACCS panels from MARINELEC have found their market. This AMS system is particularly suitable for small and mid size boats, available in versions dedicated to specific functions, such as level monitoring or even the monitoring of watertight doors... The MACCS system, Marine Advanced Customizable & Creative Solutions, is more efficient, more competitive and has extensive features. MACCS can function with upto 64 channels with its 7" touchscreen.

Another innovation for 2017 developped by MARINELEC is the ALTO, an alarm panel with 4 channels providing light and sound signaling for all types of senors A.O.N. (all or nothing) and those destined for flood and fire detection.
This new panel, of which the first models have been sold to the IXBLUE (H2X) shipyard, were specifically developed for very small units. MARINELEC offers a range of alarm solutions that meet the safety requirements for all types of vessels, even the smallest of boats.

Investment

MARINELEC expanding its walls

Marinelec

The last quater of 2017 is marked by the extension of our premises, as MARINELEC invests in the expansion of the business in Quimper. Since last summer a new blue building has come up from the ground. A 545 m² surface over two floors, has allowed MARINELEC to double the capacity of its production workshop and expand the design office premises. A laboratory dedicated to equipment testing has been created and the sales department will be able to reorganise its officies. The total surface area of the buildings has almost tripled, from 310 m² to almost 900 m².

This investment of 600,000 Euros illustrates the dynamism of the company which continues to advance and innovate. A sign of confidence in the future for MARINELEC, which has strengthened its export markets, especially in South East Asia, primarily for commercial vessels.
